Dead Parent Society is a dark, personal stand-up show from Chris Groves, exploring grief, family, and what happens after loss.

Following a successful run at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, the show returns in 2026 as a solo hour. It begins it’s  pre-festival tour in Barcelona for one night only.

With a mix of sharp stand-up and honest storytelling, Chris takes the audience through the uncomfortable, absurd, and unexpectedly human moments that come with losing a parent. From funerals to family dynamics, from what people say to what they avoid saying—it’s all there.

Finding laughter in loss.

This is comedy that doesn’t shy away from the difficult stuff—but instead leans into it, turning it into something real, relatable, and movingly funny.
